The Rogues Rant

RoguesRantWelcome to The Rogues Rant, an occasional look at all things Rugby.

Well the ARU has listened to the ground swell of opinion in regard to overseas player’s eligibility for Wallaby selection. Players who have earned 60 caps and have held an ARU playing contract for at least seven years can now be considered for selection no matter where they live or play their rugby. Let’s hope that the ARU are just as willing to listen to the opinion of the rugby community on other matters concerning their administration.

Last weekend was almost a complete washout but we only lost two games in the end. Both the matches washed out, Avondale V Kiama and Tech Waratahs V Camden, will now be played on August 8. Bowral continued to show some good form, holding Campbelltown to eleven points at Eridge Park. Shamrocks had what must be a worrying second heavy loss to Shoalhaven and Uni had to fight hard to get the points against Vikings. Speaking of University, a few friends of mine left the Uni on Saturday with a very sour taste in their mouths despite enjoying their afternoon of Rugby. Be warned, be very careful were and how you park your car at the Uni or it could turn into a very expensive afternoon for you. Make sure you read ALL the signs.
