Kiama Sneak Home against Rams

1sts: Camden 24 Kiama 29

2nds: Camden 5  Kiama 27

3rds: Camden10 Kiama 19

It’ll go down as a day of missed opportunities when Camden travelled to Kiama. With all grades having shuffled line-ups due to the flu and injury, the day looked like it may present a challenge. First Grade hit the ground running and looked like a side that had something to prove to the travelling fans on the sideline. They scored their first try within minutes of the opening whistle, when Gav Holder busted the Kiama defence up the middle and centre Ethan Whittington supported to score under the posts. What seemed like only moments later, fly Half Chris Ravlich supported a half break and scored out wide to take the score to 12-0.

Club Champion leaders put cleaners through Rams

1st Grade: Camden 0   Avondale 38

2nd Grade: Camden 7   Avondale 22

3rd Grade: Camden 7   Avondale 27

On a wet and miserable day at Wire Lane, there was nothing for Camden to smile about as the Avondale Wombats came away easy winners in all three Grades.
Avondale finished the day with a one sided 38-0 drubbing of Camden’s first grade. The first half was one that Camden will want to forget as Avondale’s backs were untroubled by the slippery conditions and had effectively put the game beyond Camden’s reach with three early tries down the left flank. A much more committed effort in the second half was the only shining light for the Rams and it prevented what could have been an embarrassing blow-out occurring.

Enthusiastic Shamrocks power over Rams

1st Grade 5 Shamrocks 32

2nd Grade 31 Shamrocks 27

3rd Grade 0 Shamrocks 12

On an unusually still day at Ocean Park, Woonona, the Camden side were none the less still blown of the paddock by a young and enthusiastic Shamrock team that is currently dragging themselves steadily away from the bottom of the ladder. Coach Andrew Suffell rued lost opportunities and was at a loss to explain why his usually dynamic backs were unable to penetrate the defence and his forwards outmatched in every facet of the game. “We were a team that didn’t turn up to play, and we were out enthused at the breakdown” he said.
