Avondale attack Rams

1st Grade: Camden 32 Avondale 64

2nd Grade: Camden 36 Avondale 5

3rd Grade: Camden 10 Avondale 42

Camden's 1st XV were, looking for a win in the last couple of rounds left in the season as they came up against Avondale.The 1st XV didn't get off to a good start as Avondale claimed the 1st points of the game with a try right underneath the sticks. The try was converted to give Avondale a 7-0 lead. Not long after that Avondale had got their 2nd try out wide in the corner through winger Hurst. It was converted and gave Avondale a 14 nil lead. Camden hit back with fullback Jake Sadler who intercepted to set up Camden winger Nick Daly for Camden's first points. The try was converted by Tyler Aitken.<--break->

Camden was now within 7 of Avondale at 14-7. Avondale then counter attacked from a Camden mistake and pushed the lead out to 21-7. Camden started to pick up the defence but the Avondale back line found a way to score in the corner, again through Hurst who also kicked the goal. Avondale lead 26-7 but after that Camden started to get a roll on and Avondale gave away a penalty. With quick thinking from the outside centre Tyler Aitken, who took a quick tap and with his foot work scored next to the sticks and he converted his own try to take it to 26-14. Camden kept going foward and when hooker David Gleeson dived on a loose ball of the line out to take the score 26-19, things looked hopeful. Camden had to do alot of defence on there own try line and it took its toll on the squad and Avondale went over to take the lead out 31-19. As half time approached Camden took an easy 3 points from a penlty goal. Camden went in to half time trailing by 11. Camden came out eager to close the margin but Avondale started well from the kick off scoring two quick tries to lead Camden 43-22. Camden wasn't about to give up as they tested the Avondale defence. Avondale held Camden out wide and Avondale then look to bury the Rams by scoring a try which gave them a lead of 50-22. Camden found a bit of spark through their outside centre Tyler Aitken who carved through the Avondale defence to set up Jake Sadler who was there in support. Camden front rower Ryan Martin stepped up and kicked the goal from in front but a late try from Avondale blow the score out to 57-29. Tyler Aitken then went over for his second try with a good solo effort. Avondale wrapped up the day with a try on full time the score ended up Avondale 62 Camden 34 the best for Camden was Tyler Aitken and Gav Holder

Camden 2nd grade team showed their rivals Avondale that they're the team to beat this year. Camden started strong with a try through break away Simon Wine to go 5-0 up. Not long after that Avandale hit back with a try  and the scores were level. Camden upped the tempo of the game with their strong defence and attack with winger Wade Chandler scoring before half time to give Camden the lead 10-5. Camden came out after half time just the way they finshed the 1st half with halfback Venu Ahsam making a break but only to be held up short but with the support of the fowards push, Ahsam got over the try line and it was converted by winger Andrew Brown to give Camden a lead of 12. Shortly after that fullback Dane Kelly pick up a pass from Dan Grimson and beat several defenders to race 60 metres to score under the sticks, with Andrew Brown converting and Camden lead Avondale 24-5. It didn't take to long for Dane Kelly to get his second for the day scoring outwide 29-5. Camden were going strong with the forwards laying down the platform for the backs to throq it around. A chip kick from winger Dan Grimson bounced up perfectly for Andrew Brown to race away to score under the sticks and he converted his own try to take it to 36-5. However Avondale had the last say by scoring at try to make the final score 36-12. Camden was just too good for Avondale running out winners. The best on ground for Camden was halfback Venu Ahsam, winger Andrew Brown and front rower Tom Howe

Camden thirds kickoff the day at Camden rugby park with a top of the table clash with Avondale who only have had one loss all year. Camden came out strong giving the Avondale a shock with their defence and attack. It wasn't too long before Avondale gave away a penalty,which fullback Mark Strong decided to take the easy 3 points and give them the lead 3-0. It was an arm wrestle for the next 20 minutes until Avondale crossed the try line and gave them the lead 7-3.Avondale scored another two quick tries before half time to take the lead with them 21-3. Avondale started the second half the way they finished the first by scoring another three more tries but Camden were never going to give up and it showed when winger Mark Jordan crossed over under the sticks but it was all too late for any sort of come back and the full time score was Avondale 42 Camden 10. The best on field was centre Matt Tagg number 8 Dan Campell and secornd rower Andrew Redman
