Baby Illawarriors Unbeaten at State Cup

On Sunday June 28, 2015 the Illawarra U10 representative squad played in the NSWJRU State Cup at Narrabeen. This squad had been training together for 7 weeks in the lead up to the gala day and we travelled to Narrabeen confident that we would be competitive against Under 10 teams from the Sydney competition.

Our opening game was against Parramatta. We were by far the better team running out 26-0 winners. It was a great start to the day with some free running under 10’s rugby. Confidence was high going into our second game against Warringah. We played strongly as a team, putting into practice the things that we had been doing at training. This game ended in another 26-0 victory.

We started game three against North’s a little slower. This team really took it to us and were the first team to score any points against us for the tournament. We kicked into action about quarter time and from then on we were well and truly in charge of the game winning 26-12.
