The Butler's Blurb

ButlerHi everyone and welcome to week eight of the Builders Club Illawarra Rugby Competition.

Round seven was again another defining round with sides continuing to sort themselves out with only two matches left until the halfway point in the competition.

I predicted that the top three sides would win and continue to put space between them and the following pack. Boy was I wrong with a major upset occurring when Kiama accounted for University 29-13 at University Oval. I’m told the Students stand-in coach Don Nepia was one of the other six dwarfs "Not Happy" with the result as on top of the loss the students lost key players to injury, particularly in the front row. Full credit to Kiama though who have locked themselves into fourth spot with the victory.

For the Students it also meant the loss of second spot to Shamrocks who easily accounted for Campbelltown 33-17 in Campbelltown.

Avondale continued their unbeaten run with a solid 27-nil shutout of Shoalhaven while Camden easily accounted for Tech Waratahs 36-19 at Camden Rugby Park.
