Shamrocks Book Grand Final Berth

MatchReportShamrocks have booked a berth in the 2016 IDRU Builders Club Premiership Grand Final with a gritty come from behind 28 – 15 victory over a shattered University Bulls side. The match played in beautiful weather conditions at Campbelltown Showground, was a typical hard fought Semi-Final which kept a strong crowd transfixed until the final whistle.

With the powerful Bulls forward pack led by No. 8 Jason Hughes quickly establishing their superiority over their smaller opponents, the Bulls took a 12 nil lead after twenty minutes. Though outmuscled for much of the first half, the smaller Shamrocks pack worked tirelessly to stay in touch with the Bulls to only trail by 6 – 12 at the break after Fly Half Scott Tarasenko booted two penalty goals for his side to stay in touch with the Bulls. After tries to flanker Charlie Freeman and centre Dan Ward on the back of a wealth of possession and field position created by their pack, the Bulls looked destined for a big win.
