The Curse of the Yellow Card has struck again. Not for the first time Yellow Cards are impacting on our Final Series matches. Last Saturday University champion No.8 Paul Tuala sat out his side’s Major Semi-Final loss to Shamrocks. Paul had to serve an automatic one match suspension after being Yellow Carded in the last two minutes of the club’s Round 18 match with Avondale. To compound things for Paul, he has in fact accrued four Yellow Cards this year whilst playing for University and the Cockatoos earlier in the year. With a further automatic one match suspension if he receives a fifth Card, Paul will be playing on eggshells in this weeks’ Final against Bowral. If he were to get another yellow this week and the Bulls make it through to the GF, Paul would miss that match as well. Let’s hope for Paul and the Bulls sake he gets through with a clean sheet.
