To all Camden Rugby Union Club and Members, Sponsors and Supporters,
I trust everyone is keeping safe and well during the difficult time.
Due to current COVID-19 conditions, the options to be playing rugby again this year change almost every day and the latest is that the IDRU Board have voted and approved to hold a 15 a side competition with two grades that will be played over nine weeks across the IDRU district.
It will start on the 1st of August and be completed by the 26th of September. The teams who are at the top of the two tables will be deemed the winners of 1st and 2nd Grades. There will not be a final series this year.
The IDRU Junior Rugby Competition is currently due to commence on the 19th of July in an adjusted format. The IDRU Junior Committee is still in the process of deciding the structure of this competition and hopefully will be announced this week.
Camden Council has given the club approval for training to recommence for both Seniors and Juniors. The fields were marked last week and thanks to our ground staff, who worked on the weekend to get it ready. Well done to all involved !!!
No doubt the training and playing rules and regulations will change again and the coaches and managers of teams will be notified by the relevant rugby chairpersons, and we will send any information that is relevant to our supporters and sponsors.
We ask that you all follow the guidelines provided by the relevant authorities (Camden Council, Rugby Australia, NSW Rugby NSW Country and IDRU) and not put the club in a position where the laws are being broken in training and illegal gatherings.
If you have any queries regarding any issues, please contact the club in writing.
As always, the health and safety of our players, supporters, sponsors, members, parents, coaches and managers will always be at the forefront of the Camden Rugby Union Club and hopefully the competitions mentioned above will be able to go ahead and the club is back playing again.
Go the Rams.
