Rugby Returning to Camden

To all Camden Rugby Union Club and Members, Sponsors and Supporters,

I trust everyone is safe and keeping well.

The IDRU Junior Rugby Competition will now start on Sunday the 26th of July 2020. The IDRU Junior Committee is currently in the process of implementing this and hopefully the draw will be announced in the coming week.

The 2020 IDRU Senior Rugby Competition will start on the 1st of August 2020 and will be two grades and the teams who are at the top of the two tables will be deemed the winners of 1st and 2nd grades and it will be completed by the 26th of September 2020, having said this there is a possibility that this could change slightly and there might be a two round final series to complete this year.

The committee has been working on the strategic planning for the club and will be presenting the outcomes and the future direction of the club, informed by the survey completed by members last year.

The club will be holding a Bunnings BBQ on Saturday the 25th of July 2020 at Narellan from 9.00 am till 5.00 pm, and I ask all members of the club to help out, if possible.

The club has been allocated a Shute Shield game between Northern Suburbs and Western Sydney Two Blues to be held on Saturday the 29th of August 2020. This promises be a great day of rugby with our Seniors playing Shamrocks before the main game and a Junior team playing at half-time. I hope you can all attend and see club rugby at it best.

Camden Council has given the club approval for contact training and games to recommence for both Seniors and Juniors.

No doubt the facility rules and regulations may change again, and the coaches and managers of teams will be notified by the relevant rugby chairpersons. We will pass on any information that is relevant to our supporters and sponsors.

I ask that you all follow the guidelines provided by the relevant authorities (Camden Council, Rugby Australia, NSW Rugby NSW Country and IDRU). The clubhouse and grounds will be following strict guidelines that have been issued, this means social distancing will be applied in all areas of the venue.

Yes, there will be some minor disruption in the following, such as access to grounds, canteen and clubhouse areas. The committee operations and directions on this matter hopefully will have the facility operating in a COVID 19 safe manner for all Members, Sponsors, Supporters and Visitors.

All these matters are subject to change, the current situation is fluid, and as you will be aware, can and does change from hour to hour. The committee is endeavouring to provide you with a pleasant and above all, a safe Rugby experience.

If you have any queries regarding any of these issues, please contact the club in writing.

Please do not allow Camden Rugby Club to be in a position that puts players, supporters, or staff of the club at risk.

Go the Rams.
