The Board of Camden Rugby Union Football Club is inviting formal applications for Coaching and Team Manager Positions within our Senior Squad structure for the 2024 season

Camden Rugby is about to celebrate its 49th year in 2024. The club boasts a proud history of competition and success in the Illawarra Rugby Union. Our club's foundations are built on a welcoming and inclusive attitude, with a focus on developing character, determination, team spirit, and long-lasting friendships. 

As a community-based organisation, our goal is to increase participation in rugby, especially for women and girls. Camden currently fields teams ranging from Under 7's to Opens. Build sustainable success, through player and coach development and provide facilities to support success and growth.

Camden Rugby is looking to appoint coaches for our Senior Men’s Program; 

- First Grade
- Second Grade
- Third Grade 
- Colts

The ideal candidate is a highly skilled rugby professional with proven experience in coaching at a senior or high-level junior or school program.  Coaches who are aspirational and want to be a part of a highly effective group of Coaches at the Club. 

The successful candidate will work alongside other club coaches and the Senior Rugby Chair Manager. Other key internal relationships will be with the Coach Development Director and Board Members.  

We are looking for applicants with strong leadership and communication skills, who can inspire and develop players to high standards, a passion for Rugby, and those who share our values both on and off the field.  Applicants for the First Grade Coach should have as a minimum a Level 2 ARU Coaching accreditation, it is expected other applicants will have Level 1 and/or Foundation coach qualifications. The board will support and assist coaches to obtain higher level qualifications. 

The successful applicants will be responsible for the appointment of their assistant coaches and managers.

 

SENIOR MEN'S SQUADS – COACH 2024

Key responsibilities:

• Inspire, engage, retain and recruit players to the senior squads
• With the support of the club take responsibility for the continued development of your coaching skills 
• Shape and implement a Rugby philosophy that can be consistently applied by all teams across the Senior Squad in pursuit of clearly defined competitive objectives;
• Plan the coaching program for pre-season and in-season training to support the development of player skills at all levels of experience, providing challenging, active and effective coaching sessions for the entire player base;
• Support and direct the execution of the coaching program by the assistant coaching team at training sessions;
• Evaluate match performances and training sessions with the assistant coaching team and players. This may include reviewing and presenting video performances of matches and training.
• Evolve the coaching program and, where necessary, initiate and execute strategic recruitment;
• Build and embed a process to identify and develop playing talent and regularly deliver clear, honest feedback to individual players on how they can improve;
• Work closely and effectively with the Board and Club Management as and when required.
• Contribute to the growth of female participation in rugby.
